Highlights of 2012

I'm a very reflective person by nature.  In teaching this is undoubtedly a good thing, but in life I can drive myself, and others, a little mad.  So before I move forward into 2013 proper by going back to Spain and work, let's just have a little look back at some of the high points of 2012.

Holidays played a big part in making 2012 so amazing.  We went to Sharm el Sheikh as a family, I then headed to Marbella to meet up with Rich, I visited Valencia to see where we'd be living, went to the West coast of Scotland to visit family and then spent some time in the South East and attended the Olympics.  Oh and we even fitted in a trip to Barcelona in December.

Whilst in Egypt, I finally conquered my fear of snorkelling!

Puerto Banus on the Marbella holiday.

The first of many visits to the beach in Valencia.

Not quite as hot as Valencia but our day on the beach in Troon with my family, was amazing.

London 2012- an unforgettable time.

It might have been a little chilly but Barcelona didn't disappoint.

So holiday wise, 2012 was amazing.  We even fitted in a little trip to the Warner Brothers Studio tour back in June.

Mmm butterbeer.

It seems a long time ago now but one of the major highlights of 2012 has to be qualifying as a teacher.

And then of course there was the big move.  August 25th came round, we jumped on the plane and moved to Valencia.  We found a lovely apartment, I started work and explored the city.  Now we live just round the corner from this.

So here's hoping that 2013 will be half as good as 2012!

What are your highlights of 2012?

Happy New Year!

Well this feels a bit novel.  Me, writing a blog post.  I'm afraid that real life got in the way of our holiday feeling, so after our visitors had left it was noses to the grindstone, and I ddn't really look up until the Christmas holidays.

We flew home on the 22nd to spend 2 lovely weeks with ffamily and friends, which have been insanely busy, but wonderful.  I spent christmas with my parents and brother in Lincoln, with Rich joining us for the evening, then went up to Glasgow to celebrate with Grandpa's 85th birthday before spending New Year with Rich's brother and sister in law in Sheffield.  Since then I have mainly spend my time catching up on Downton Abbey which becomes too tragic for words when you watch them all back to back, in the space of 2 days!

So here are a few pictures of what Christmas has been like here and I will return shortly to keep up with the blog in a far more conscientious manner in 2013.  I hope you all had a great Christmas and Happy New Year to you all!
